A simple oat breakfast elevated to dessert standards!

Super simple, but extremely yummy, and needs very little prep time.It is our favourite breakfast when we feel like a treat! The ingredients are usually always at hand and cooks quickly.
It tastes best if you peel and grate the apple, but if that seems like a lot of effort, then you can dice it as well. The oats will cook before the apple, so do add more water than you normally would - to avoid a lumpy breakfast. If you feel it is drying up while you cook it, add some water and incorporate well.
Sugar can be replaced with honey or jaggery powder if you wish for a healthier option.
Recipe:
Ingredients:
4 tbsp oats
1 apple - peeled and grated
A pinch of salt
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp sugar or can be replaced with jaggery or honey
1/2 tsp vanilla
Water (or milk, if you prefer it creamier)
Topping: Granola of choice, nuts, diced apple.
Method:
Soak oats and grated apples in water for a few minutes.
Cook on medium heat until it begins to bubble. Add sugar, pinch of salt, vanilla and cinnamon and mix until oats are cook through.
Be sure to keep stirring as it may stick to the bottom.
For a crunchy topping, add some granola, nuts and diced apple.
Adjust the water to suit the consistency you desire.
